Do you have a lot planned for the holidays? This can be a busy time of year! While your cat may not have to juggle various parties and events, she may still have a few things on her calendar for the coming weeks. Here, a Frisco, TX vet discusses your cat’s holiday agenda.
Climb The Tree
Cats have a hard time resisting holiday trees. (Actually, that may not be entirely accurate: many of our felines pals don’t even try to resist them.) While we normally hate to spoil Fluffy’s fun, in this case you may want to take a few steps to help keep your tree standing. Use a sturdy base, and decorate so that only a few unbreakable ornaments are within paws’ reach.
Help With Chores
Kitties are very thoughtful, and try to help their humans out whenever possible. Fluffy may offer a helping paw with giftwrapping or cleaning. Your considerate pet may also help you change the sheets in your guest room, hop into a box you’re trying to wrap, or keep your laundry warm by napping in it.
Supervise
Our feline friends like to pay very close attention to what their people are doing. Fluffy will no doubt watch you as you cook, decorate, and wrap gifts.
Play In Boxes
Boxes are definitely on the list of Fluffy’s favorite things. Once you’re done opening gifts, give your kitty some empty ones to play in.
Enjoy A Special Snack
To really get Fluffy’s motor going, offer her some plain, cooked meat, fish, or poultry without the skin, bones or fat. A can of tuna will also please Her Furry Majesty.
Nap
Nothing can stop Fluffy from getting her beauty rest! Your drowsy pet may take some of her holiday naps under the tree, or just curl up on your lap.
Refuse To Pose For Pictures
It’s almost impossible not to smile when you see a cute picture of a kitty beneath a tree, or sitting among pretty gifts. However, Fluffy has a way of looking adorable, then moving as soon as you reach for a camera.
Play With New Toys
Don’t forget to pick up some presents for Fluffy! Toys, treats, catnip, and pet furniture are all purrfect gifts for kitties.
