However, you should never punish your pet for misbehaving. Pets don’t really understand punishment, especially after the fact. It’s much better to focus on rewarding positive behavior.

Pets can’t speak up if they are sick or uncomfortable, so it’s important to pay close attention to them. Offer small comforts, like soft beds, and watch for signs of illness.
