8 Easy Ways To Pamper Your Cat

Many of our feline patients have it pretty easy. Fluffy gets to basically just lounge around all the time, looking cute and silently judging you. However, if you really want to spoil your kitty, read on! In this article, a Frisco, TX vet lists some easy ways to pamper your cat.

Beds

You’ve probably noticed that kitties are quite sleepy. Fluffy may rotate from spot to spot for her morning, midmorning, noon, afternoon, evening, and after-dinner naps, before cuddling up with you at night. Make sure your drowsy furball has lots of comfy beds to choose from!

Toys

Playing isn’t just fun for Fluffy: it lets her unleash her inner lioness by practicing her pouncing and ambushing skills. Offer your frisky feline lots of fun toys!

Good Food

Proper nutrition is very important to your pet’s health. Give Fluffy a high-quality, life-stage food. Treats are fine—and are actually beneficial—but don’t go overboard. Follow your vet’s recommendations.

Window Views

Cats are much safer staying inside, where they’re protected from hazards such as traffic, weather, and predators. However, your furball will get bored and unhappy with nothing to do but stare at the walls all day. Give Fluffy a comfy window seat with a good view. (You get bonus purrs if she can see birds and/or squirrels.)

Stimulation

Many kitties stay home while their humans go to work. Don’t leave Fluffy alone in a dark, quiet house! Turn a TV or radio on for background noise. If you won’t be home before dark, keep a light on for her.

Catnip

No surprises here! Fluffy is super cute when she is enjoying some catnip!

Veterinary Care

Veterinary care really should be considered part of your kitty’s basic care needs. However, many cats don’t visit us as much as they should! Fluffy will be much healthier—and therefore happier—with proper care.

Conversation

The jury is still out on exactly how much human language Fluffy understands. However, it’s safe to say that kitties know at least a few things, such as their names and ‘Get down from there!’ Even if your cat doesn’t know what you’re saying, she’ll know you’re communicating with her. Plus, you don’t have to worry about your cat spilling secrets!
